My dear son-in-law died at home early Wednesday morning, after a long struggle with complications from Type 1 diabetes mellitus. He was only 46 years old. He and my daughter had been married eleven years.

My daughter and her husband (2009).
He was the author of two of the autograph books I published:
Way too young to pass away. My heart goes out to you Christine and your daughter.

On my and my daughter’s behalf, I thank you, Michael. Knowing that you share our sorrow is a comfort that transcends space and time, so I’m sure my son-in-law feels your concern, too.

God gave him back to us earlier this year, but this time, in His love for Chad, God said, “It is enough. Time to come home.” But even knowing what’s likely, it’s never easy when it does happen, so we’re grateful to know you’re with us in our grief, and to feel your prayers.

That’s a good way to look at it and we know you will see him again, though that isn’t always comforting when the grief is this raw. Praying for you.
