Sky Chalice.

Sky Chalice.

Ye ask why stay I
upon this green height?
Smiling, I cannot confess
how here my heart rests,
like a peach blossom
on the bosom
of a stream:
In heaven on earth,
why return to the world?

Text ©2016 Christine Plouvier
After Question and Answer on the Mountain, by Li Po (701 – 762) .
Thanks to Robert Okaji for revealing another inspiring work by this master!
